Dovile Cvirka, DPT
Dovile Cvirka, DPT, is a dedicated physical therapist committed to helping patients move better, feel stronger, and achieve their highest level of physical function.
She earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Midwestern University in 2017 and brings years of experience in general rehabilitation, joint replacement, and neurological rehabilitation to her practice.
With a strong neurological background, Dovile is LSVT BIG certified, which is a research-based treatment approach designed to help individuals with Parkinson’s disease improve movement, balance, strength, and functional independence.
She also specializes in dry needling and the treatment of temporomandibular disorders (TMD), allowing her to provide a comprehensive approach to a wide range of orthopedic, neurological, and musculoskeletal conditions.
Her approach to physical therapy is centered on individualized, evidence-based care. Dovile believes effective rehabilitation requires time, clinical expertise, and collaboration. She works closely with each patient to understand their goals and develops a personalized treatment plan focused not only on short-term symptom relief, but on lasting improvements in strength, mobility, function, and quality of life.

Dovile treats patients across the lifespan, with experience addressing back, neck, and spine pain; sports and athletic injuries; hip, knee, shoulder, and ankle conditions; post-surgical rehabilitation; arthritis and degenerative joint conditions; muscle strains, sprains, and overuse injuries; as well as balance and mobility limitations.

A targeted approach to muscle pain and movement restrictions.
Dry needling is a technique performed by specially trained healthcare professionals to address certain muscular and myofascial conditions.
During treatment, very thin, sterile needles are inserted into specific areas of muscle tissue, including myofascial trigger points. The technique may be used alongside other physical therapy treatments such as therapeutic exercise, stretching, manual therapy, and mobility work.
The needle is inserted into the targeted tissue. In some cases, a brief local twitch response may occur. Your therapist may then combine dry needling with movement exercises, stretching, manual therapy, or other rehabilitation techniques.
Your physical therapist identifies areas of muscle tension or dysfunction and determines whether dry needling is appropriate as part of your treatment plan.
Muscle tightness and trigger points
Muscle pain and spasms
Tendinopathies and overuse injuries
Neck and back pain
Shoulder and hip discomfort
Certain headaches associated with muscular tension
Movement restrictions and reduced range of motion
Dry needling isn't appropriate for everyone.
Before treatment, your physical therapist will review your health history, current medications, medical conditions, and treatment goals to determine whether dry needling is appropriate and safe for you.
If you are pregnant, take medications that affect blood clotting, have a bleeding disorder, have recently undergone surgery, or have another condition that may affect your ability to receive dry needling, be sure to discuss this with your healthcare provider.
